Who We Are
Principal Actuary:
Malcolm Meyer
Malcolm is a qualified actuary with over 15 years of post qualification broad-based experience in the UK life insurance industry. Prior to moving to industry, he was a lecturer in actuarial science for over four years, gaining technical insight into the core technical subjects, as well as applying his engaging presentation skills.
Malcolm graduated from Stellenbosch University in South Africa with a B.Comm and B.Comm honours in Actuarial Science. Malcolm qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2007.
In particular he enjoys the challenge of working as a project actuary with experience gained working on a variety of different projects at a number of clients ranging from insurance companies to banks.
He always brings his attention to detail, technical skills and enthusiasm to his actuarial work.
Outside of work, he is a superhero dad to his two young children.
Our company
We are a small and dynamic company based in Marlborough, Wiltshire, providing actuarial consulting services to a range of clients. We develop innovative solutions for clients and whilst efficient, always pay attention to detail, hence our name, "Exact Innovations".
Past projects include:
- Model migrations from legacy valuation systems
- Implementation of actuarial functionality within a data
warehouse purpose built for Solvency II
- Development of a Solvency II monthly Solvency Monitoring
Tool
- Development of a department wide Assumptions Tool used
to produce the full suite of Solvency II and IFRS assumption
sets
- Planning, development and implementation of
a revised solution to value and maintain a longevity hedge
deal between the client and reinsurers
- Part of a solvency II project team that successfully
transitioned a group of with-profit funds from a standard
formula valuation to an internal model valuation
- Part of a project team that successfully implemented unit
matching on a large unit linked book of pension business
Our company secretary is Dr Claudia Meyer, but her duties extend beyond this role to general administration, bookkeeping as well as marketing.
We are based in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
